Must be current senior graduating from Haverford High School in 2026

Must be accepted to and planning to enroll in a college degree or vocational certificate in 2026

Must submit application by 5pm EST on May 31, 2026
Application Instructions

Write a 500 word essay on the topic, "What does community mean to you?"

This award is in honor of Jack McDonald, whose dedication to the Havertown community is continued through the John D McDonald Memorial Foundation

Please note that the 2026 scholarship will be awarded to ONE applicant. Secondary awards are not available this year.

Congratulations to Cara Jones for writing an incredible winning essay! She was awarded $2000 at our annual golf outing.
Additionally, congratulations to Brinley McCollum, whose essay was so excellent that the board was compelled to award an additional $1000 runner-up scholarship.
