2026 Scholarship Essay Contest

A $2000 scholarship awarded to a Haverford High School senior who is pursing a college degree or vocational certificate

Requirements

Must be current senior graduating from Haverford High School in 2026
Must be accepted to and planning to enroll in a college degree or vocational certificate in 2026
Must submit application by 5pm EST on May 31, 2026

Application Instructions

Write a 500 word essay on the topic, "What does community mean to you?"

Please share our website with local businesses, family, and friends! We are still looking for additional donors, hole sponsors, and golfers for our fundraiser golf outing!

Additional Information

This award is in honor of Jack McDonald, whose dedication to the Havertown community is continued through the John D McDonald Memorial Foundation
The winning essay may be posted on the JDM Foundation website.
Please note that the 2026 scholarship will be awarded to ONE applicant. Secondary awards are not available this year.
